“Nkan Eledua (Kemi) is a talented lady who started her career in the entertainment industry in Nigeria at her teenage years. Her dexterity in singing, acting and dancing is with a great style and uniqueness. Nkan as popularly called in her county Nigeria is known because of the depth of her sonorous voice. She released her 1st album in 2005 called the song of our Ancestors produced by a London based producer. One of her songs was listed among the world best music in a classical collections of different musicians with the likes of Maroam Makeba.
Alison Chokwadi Fletcher
Oakland native Alison Chokwadi Fletcher is a spoken word artist, dancer, background singer and sometimes actor. She formally mc’d and orchestrated the open mic series Poetry Diversified. She’s been a member of Dimensions Dance Theater, The Lower Bottom Players, Fusion Theater, Congo Square II and Tres Santos. She’s contributed her voice and dancing legs to plays such as James Baldwin’s “Amen Corner” and Avotcja’s “Oaktown Blue”. Her poetry is made out of hand-me-down family stories, music, African American history and love, always love.
